The “Adobe Reader” has been standard equipment on both business and private computers for many years. The software has established the PDF format, so that a large number of important documents are offered in this file format. Important to know: You cannot create PDF documents with “Adobe Acrobat Reader DC” itself. Recommended PDF creators include the free tools PDF24 Creator and PDFCreator.
Additional features for a fee
The “Adobe Export PDF” feature is also integrated, with which you can convert PDF documents into Word or Excel format. However, you can only do this as often as you like if you pay for the service, which Adobe charges just under 2 euros a month for. An extended conversion function, which also allows you to merge and send PDFs, costs just under 5 euros per month.
Is Adobe Acrobat Reader DC free of charge?
Adobe Acrobat Reader is available free of charge in a Basic variant. If you also want to protect, convert and directly edit your documents, a paid subscription is required, which is available from around 16 euros per month, depending on the scope.
How to open a PDF with Adobe Acrobat Reader?
To open a file with Adobe Reader, right-click on the desired PDF file and select “Open with”. Then click on “Adobe Acrobat Reader DC” and the PDF file will open with Acrobat Reader in a new window.
How to install the Acrobat Reader?
You download the Adobe Reader via our CHIP download and then execute the file with a double click. You will then be guided through the installation process and the installation will be executed. Done!
How to update my Adobe Reader?
Open Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and navigate to “Help” in the top menu bar and then select “Check for updates…”. The software will now check for available updates on its own.
